You travel. You capture. You click, but how do you do it in style?

This design firm is making life much easier for all travel photographers!

Every photographer's dilemma runs around the travel convenience with the SLR's, additional lenses, hard drives, CF Cards, SD cards that accompany the gear. You are a photographer. You want to travel in style, keep your gear well protected and remain organized.

Blackforest Bags does exactly that! Creating handmade camera bags and accessories that are simple yet stylish! Founded in 2016 by Rashi Chaudhary, Blackforest Bags caters to professionals and photography enthusiasts who need good-looking AND functional bags.

Her husband Paresh is a passionate photographer and always wanted a protective and not so typical bag but never really found the right one. Rashi had been working as a dentist at a clinic until she was expecting. With the baby, her maternity leave prolonged for a year. The desire to get back to work independently and being able to work from home made her take up this work with all her mirth.

A modest knowledge in product designing made it a challenging task but she kept learning and persevered. She travelled out to look for manufacturing partners that could suffice to their requirements. Selecting perfect raw materials including responsibly sourced leather was top priority.

The first sample bag took more than two months with a few revisions followed by field tests with professional photographers who suggested a few minor changes. Eventually Blackforest bags was formally launched with their first design series RIMO I.

With the right proportion of looks, minimalist design, enhanced functionality and dual utility, the bags serve the purpose of carrying the gear along with travel essentials . They are soon offering more product options to chose what suits your lifestyle best.

Rashi has stepped beyond her comfort zone and fought all odds to create something new despite of household responsibilities and a two year old baby to manage.

They aim to create a worldwide presence through boutique retailers.

It is probably the next it thing for any photography lover’s wish list!
