Where are the bags shipped from?

All orders are shipped from our warehouse in India.

How much does shipping cost?

We offer free shipping worldwide.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we offer free shipping worldwide. 

Orders that are shipped outside India may be subject to import taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country. We have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. We are not responsible for any delays caused by destination customs clearance processes. To make your shopping experience as seamless as possible, we have arranged with FedEx to custom clear your goods for you and deliver them to your doorstep. If you are presented with an invoice from FedEx for import duties and taxes, you will have to pay FedEx directly at the time of delivery.

Will I be charged for customs charges in case of international shipping?

How long will it take for the order to ship?

We aim to ship all in-stock items within 1-2 business days once the payment has been received. Domestic orders will take 3-5 business days for delivery from the date of dispatch. International orders will take  7-14 business days for delivery from the date of dispatch.

Do you offer expedited shipping?

No. At this point we are unable to offer overnight or expedited delivery service. 

Can my order ship to a Post Office Box?

No. Since we offer door-to-door deliveries through our shipping partners, you must include full address details including a street address for the shipping address.

Do I have to sign up for a Blackforest account to buy something at Blackforestbags.com?

You do not have to create an account on Blackforestbags.com when you place an order, and can simply proceed as a Guest Shopper. However, creating an account allows you to checkout faster, save billing and shipping Information, track orders and view your order history

Why haven’t I received the tracking information on my order yet?

The tracking information will be provided to you as soon as the order has been shipped and we have received the respective details from the shipping company. 

How can I check on the status of my order?

You can view your order status at any time through My Orders option after logging in to your account on our website. If you do not have an account, kindly email us at support@blackforestbags.com. 

If I have problems with my order, whom should I contact?

How can I cancel my order?

You may email us at support@blackforestbags.com to cancel your order. If the order has not been shipped we will cancel your order.  In case of the product has been shipped from our warehouse, it will be treated as returns. Kindly see the details below mentioned in Returns/Exchange section.

 

BILLING & PAYMENTS 

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all MasterCard, VISA, American Express, and Citibank Maestro Debit Cards. Blackforestbags.com includes an SSL certificate that uses industry standard 256-bit encryption technology. This is the same level of encryption used by large banks to keep your information secure.

When will my credit card be charged?

Your credit card will be charged at the time of placing your order through our secured payment gateway. (An online real-time authorization is done through the Payment Gateway)

What currency will my order be billed in?

All orders will be processed in USD. There is a drop-down selector that lets you view prices in different currencies. Exchange rates used by us are refreshed twice a day based on the rates at XE.com

 

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

How do I return/exchange my product?

We have a simple, no-fuss, full refund, return & exchange policy. We will gladly refund or exchange new, unused merchandise purchased from blackforestbags.com with the tag intact within 30 days of delivery date. To exchange you will need to return your current order and place a new order at blackforestbags.com . Proof of purchase is required for all Returns & exchanges. Please note the custom duties and the return shipping cost will not be covered by us. 

Note: Returns must be unused, unworn, in original packaging with all tags attached. Returns will be processed within 3-5 business days after receipt. In case of an exchange, your account will be credited first and then you may place a new order. Refunds will be issued in the original form of payment. Depending on your bank, it can take an additional 3 business days for the credit to post to your account.

Will it cost me anything on returns/exchanges?

Absolutely nothing. We have a full refund policy. Please note the custom duties and the return shipping cost will not be covered by us. 

I am an international customer, can I return/exchange the product?

Yes, but please be advised that you will be responsible for shipping the product back to us. Please also note that we are not responsible for the refund of any duties, taxes, and custom fees you were charged on your order. 

 

WARRANTY & SERVICES

What is the warranty period and how do I avail any services?

We are providing a one-year warranty period in which any craftsmanship defect or material defect and any basic product services will be covered by us absolutely free of cost. Once the warranty period is over, any services will be done on a chargeable basis.

Where are your products made?

Our products are handcrafted in India by highly trained artisans who have been in this trade for generations.

Where do you source your leather?

Our leather is sourced from vendors around the world and is certified by the best tanneries in their respective regions.

What kind of leather do you use?

We use high quality, full hide, genuine leather. We have used vegetable tanned leather which is a traditional method that was refined by the Italians, Spanish and French during the Renaissance. Only 10% of world leather is made using this natural process, as it is more time-consuming to produce and relies on experienced craftsmen to create the leather.

Leather is an organic substance and every piece is unique. No two bags would be identical and that is because of the natural characteristics and behaviour of leather. There will always be slight variations in shade, texture and grains throughout any product range. We select the highest-grade hides and work with an expert tannery to obtain the finest raw materials. Only the best leather makes the cut for our finished products.

Are the bags waterproof?

All our bags are water resistant but not completely waterproof.

How do I take care of my leather bag?

The leather we use is designed to age gracefully and with the character expected from a designer bag. Natural marks and scratches allow the leather to develop a rich patina, enhancing its appeal over time. We recommend using a mild leather cream periodically to maintain the finish. To remove any surface dirt, simply wipe the leather with a soft damp cloth.

How do I care for my waxed cotton canvas bag?

To clean off any visible dust or dirt we recommend using a light scrub brush or damp sponge to spot clean. Do not apply any heavy detergents.

How can I get a lost buckle replaced?

We'd be happy to replace it for you for no charge within the warranty period. However beyond the warranty period, there may be a minimal charge for this service which we will convey to you depending on the service required plus shipping charges. You can email us at support@blackforestbags.com with your request and we will assist you with the replacement.
